As an architect, I am very much aware of the back and forth design process, and I am offering a similar approach for designing custom pieces with you as custom gifts. I will work with the person commissioning the gift, or with the happy couple directly if that is what they’d prefer.

vitrifiedstudio does not yet have a ‘line’ of work or defined style, and I currently spend most time my time experimenting with new forms in the studio rather than straight production.  My usual process involves making a shape and then testing it in the kitchen or at the table to learn from it. I have started posting images of work in progress on the main page of this blog here, and you will see the glazes, textures and forms that I am currently using.  I describe my current material and ceramic process on the technique tab here.

vitrifiedstudio focuses on functional and utilitarian ceramics with minimal decoration, but beyond that the possibilities are endless. You can either pick forms that I am already making, or you can work with me to make something different (bottles, jars, vases, platters, bowls, tumblers, planters, trays, dishes, pourers, cylinders, etc.). For inspiration, check out my other blog vitrifiedstudio , it will be a good visual aid to help with the ceramics dialogue that we can engage in.
